Viersen Congratulates New Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole

Barrhead, AB – Today members of the Conservative Party of Canada chose Erin O’Toole as their new leader. With almost 90,000 ballots on the final round, O’Toole won a clear majority of the record breaking 174,000 ballots cast.

“I am thrilled that we are starting this new chapter of the Conservative Party of Canada,” said MP Viersen. “Erin O’Toole has demonstrated that he is a strong and capable leader ready to take on Justin Trudeau in the next election.”

“I also want thank all the candidates for their hard-fought campaigns. This campaign has shown that social conservatives have fundamental place in the Conservative Party of Canada.

“Canadians are indebted to Andrew Scheer for his leadership and sacrifices. Andrew has held Justin Trudeau to account, scandal after scandal, and stood up for Canadian taxpayers.

“Today, the Conservative Party Canada stands united and ready to replace the corrupt Trudeau government.”
