Letter to the Editor – Make Canada Work for People Who’ve Done the Work

March 15, 2023 – Barrhead. AB

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Shouldn’t Canada be a place where people who work hard are able to enjoy the fruits of their labour? Shouldn’t the federal government be lowering taxes and reducing spending as the cost of living skyrockets?

Whether you are a farmer, energy worker, small business owner or senior, these are important questions that many Canadians are asking – and rightly concerned about.

In fact, after 8 years of Justin Trudeau’s inflationary taxes and reckless deficit spending, the cost of living is rising faster than at anytime in 40 years. It no longer pays to work and mortgage payments have doubled under the Liberal government.

People are going to food banks asking for help, facing the choice between eating and heating their home because of the rising carbon tax.

On March 28, the federal Liberal government – and their NDP coalition partners – will present the 2023 national budget.

The Conservative Party of Canada has been clear about what we are looking for. Our plan to ‘make Canada work for the people who work’ involves:

· Bringing home powerful paycheques with lower taxes, so hard work pays off again

· Ending inflationary carbon tax hikes & deficit spending that drive up inflation & interest rates

· Removing government gatekeepers to free up land and speed up building permits

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has been clear: “We must bring home a country that works for people who work. It is the common sense of the common people.”

As your MP, I will work hard to help elect a strong Conservative government that is committed to cutting taxes, reducing spending and helping you bring home more of what you earn.
