NDP And Bloc Vote To Keep Coalition Alive and Justin Trudeau In Power

September, 27, 2024

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ottawa, ON – After nine years of the NDP-Liberal Government, Canada’s promise is broken. Since Trudeau became Prime Minister, violent crime has soared by 50 percent. The cost of rent, downpayments and mortgage payments have all doubled, while Trudeau’s inflationary spending forced the Bank of Canada to increase interest rates at the fastest pace in Canada’s history. Trudeau’s punishing carbon tax has made everything more expensive for everyone.

Enough is enough. Costs are up, taxes are up, crime is up, and time is up.

Canadians deserve the chance to vote in a carbon tax election. Yet this week, the Bloc and the NDP decided to keep Trudeau in power by voting against a Common Sense Conservative non-confidence motion.

By doing this, the NDP has pieced back together their costly coalition that Sellout Jagmeet Singh promised he was “tearing up” just a few weeks ago. Canadians understand that the only way the NDP can pull out of their coalition with Justin Trudeau is to trigger a carbon tax election. But Jagmeet Singh has told Canadians that they need to wait until he can claim his $2.3 million pension next year.

The Bloc are also propping up Justin Trudeau’s failed government, even though the Liberals have run the most centralizing government in Canadian history. Over the past nine years, the Bloc supported the Liberals as they added $500 billion in inflationary, bureaucratic spending that helped double our debt. They also turned a blind eye as Trudeau added 100,000 more bureaucrats and spent another $10 billion on high-priced outside consultants.

The costly coalition didn’t end when Jagmeet Singh ended his agreement with Trudeau. In fact, it got bigger, with the Bloc-NDP-Liberal coalition bringing in the biggest expansion of the Ottawa-federal government and the worst invasion into Quebec’s jurisdiction.

This week’s vote makes it clearer than ever that only a Common Sense Conservative government will axe the tax, build the homes, stop the crime and fix the budget. Conservatives will not stop fighting until Canadians can vote for lower prices in a carbon tax election.

On Tuesday, October 1, the House of Commons will vote on a second Common Sense Conservative motion expressing non-confidence in Justin Trudeau and his government following Question Period.
