MP Viersen Excited About Bright Future For Canada With New Party Leader

Ottawa, ON —On Saturday, members of the Conservative Party of Canada voted to choose Pierre Poilievre as the new leader. With over 400,000 ballots cast – a record in Canadian history – Pierre Poilievre won on the first ballot, with a resounding 68.15 per cent of the vote. 

“I am thrilled that we are starting this new chapter of the Conservative Party of Canada,” said MP Viersen. “Pierre Poilievre has demonstrated that he is a strong and capable leader ready to fight for Canadians who are hurting from high inflation and cost of living.”  

“Pierre is clear that Conservatives will fight tooth and nail against any new taxes. Our team will propose real solutions to fix this NDP/Liberal coalition’s incompetence, tax hikes, and out-of-control inflationary deficits.”
